This is our traditional New Mexican Green Chile Sauce as featured on our Green Chile packaging. Use this on burgers, smother it on your burritos, or even try it with a bowl of beans.
Green Chile Sauce from Package
Traditional New Mexican Green Chile Sauce as featured on our Green Chile packaging.
Ingredients
- 2 tsp. vegetable oil
- ¼ onion chopped
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 1 – 13 oz. container BUENO® Frozen Green Chile
- 1 cup water
- 1 ¼ tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. flour
Instructions
- Heat ½ tsp. oil in saucepan. Sauté onion and garlic until transparent.2 tsp. vegetable oil, ¼ onion, 1 clove garlic
- Add frozen green chile and water. Cook over medium heat until chile is defrosted. Add salt. Simmer.1 – 13 oz. container BUENO® Frozen Green Chile, 1 cup water, 1 ¼ tsp. salt
- Heat remaining oil over medium heat in skillet. Add flour. Whisk 10 minutes.2 tsp. flour
- Add roux to sauce. Mix thoroughly. Bring to a boil (at least 165ºF.).
- Lower heat, cover, and simmer for 12 minutes.
