Chile con Papas (Chile With Potatoes)

This is a hearty, traditional dish, perfect alone or with a bowl of beans. There’s nothing that says comfort food like fried potatoes and red chile!

  • 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 4 small potatoes peeled and cubed
  • 1- 14 oz. container BUENO® Frozen Red Chile
  • 3 cloves garlic finely minced
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. BUENO® Oregano crushed


  • Heat oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
    2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • Fry potatoes in oil, stirring frequently, until golden.

  • In a separate saucepan add frozen red chile and and cook about 10-15 minutes.
    1- 14 oz. container BUENO® Frozen Red Chile
  • Once red chile is cooked, add garlic. Blend well.

  • Pour in water. Add potatoes, salt and oregano. Bring to a boil. Simmer for 15-20 minutes uncovered.
